For some reason the high E string sounds muffled, slightly buzzy and dead sounding. I've changed the nut, changed the saddles, changed the strings, had the guitar professionally set up all to no avail.

I don't know if this is consistent with these Bullet Mustangs but the the lower strings is where I hear it most, the low E is like a thud with little or no definition, it improves as it goes higher on the strings.
