WebMar 18, 2024 · Hello. I've got a ASUS H87M-Plus motherboard with a SSD. I ordered a PCIe to M.2 adapter along with a M.2 drive and installed both. It works perfectly, and Crystal Disk Mark shows the PCIe/M.2 drive is 5x faster than my SATA 3 SSD. I then cloned the contents of my SSD to the M.2 drive, but the mobo won't boot to the M.2.

Or maybe go to Crucial and see if their configurator would want to sell you an NVMe drive, given your model number. I think they date from 2009-2010 ish. The bios is unlikely to have nvme module. WebThat does have an M.2 slot under the main PCIe slot. Is it already occupied? If it is, you can get a PCIe x1 to M.2 adapter and put it in the lower PCIe slot. It will run at a slower speed though, about 1/4, but still faster than SATA.
